One Example of Obama’s Disturbing Associations

No anti-Obama blog would be complete without addressing Obama’s long relationship with the self-admitted domestic terrorists, William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorhn, of the radical Weathermen Underground. The group claims responsibility for the bombings of police stations, the US Capitol, and the Pentagon. Obama has used his tried-and-true method of throwing inconvenient long-time associates under the bus when they become a thorn in his campaign’s side. Step one in the disassociation process is that Obama denies having any connection with the acquaintance-in-question. Only after further details are released that prove the relationship, the next step is to then deny any close relationship such as, he and the suspect were merely neighbors or their children went to the same schools. Finally, after all of his excuses have been proven untruthful, Obama holds a press conference to claim that the individual he knew is not the same domestic terrorist that Americans have come to know and he is very disappointed in his former friend. He has used this process several times in his presidential campaign.  Along with Ayers, Obama has used the same process to distance himself from his reverend of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright. Then it was implemented to put distance between himself and the radical priest, Father Pfleger, who Obama claimed helped him find his moral compass. Fr. Pfleger has given very racially motivated, hateful sermons and he also once threatened to “snuff out” a Chicago gun store owner. These are only two other examples, there are plenty more throughout Obama’s career. At least, Ayers and Dorhn shouldn’t take anything personal, they have plenty of company.

David Fredosso includes in his book, “The Case Against Barack Obama” that when asked his relationship with Ayers, Obama gave this response during the April Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate, “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make any sense.”

To respond to Obama’s plea to not make a big deal out of his association with Ayers and Dorhn. First a look must be taken at the duo’s record at the peak of their dealings with the Weathermen Underground. Perhaps the best summation of the pure evil possessed by Bernadine Dorhn and William Ayers is from their well-publicized quotes when discussing the Manson family murders. Among the massacred was Sharon Tate who was eight and a half months pregnant at the time. The Manson animals slaughtered everyone in the residence, even cutting the fetus out of Tate during the slaughter. Dohrn apparently told her Weathermen colleagues, “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach.” Ayers also had his take on the killings by exclaiming, “Kill all rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents.” (Quotes taken from Fredosso.)]

How much can animals such as these honestly change? How many would maintain any relationship with people responsible for such quotes, let alone people responsible for bombing government buildings? How does a man looking to become the nation’s leader and be the face of American beliefs maintain any relationship at all with people like this?

For some, Obama’s response might make sense, especially if Ayers and Dorhn had radically reformed their lives and tried to do some good. But this is not the case. Instead Ayers, who is now a professor at a Chicago university, said in a September 11, 2001 interview with The New York Times that, “I don’t regret the bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” During an interview with the New York Times just five days after the 9/11 attacks, Ayers still clinged to his anti-American rhetoric when he chimed in again to blame the United States for not being a just and fair country. Yet, this is the man in whose house Obama started his first political campaign in 1995. This is the man who sat on the Woods Fund board with Obama for three years. This is the man that also personally selected Obama to be the first chairman of the board for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Ayers founded. Obama took the chair position at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge in 1995 and held the position until 2003. Dr. Jerome Corsi explains in his book, “The Obama Nation” that during this time period, Ayers had made his comments about the September 11 attacks and also had audio of a speech he gave posted to the internet where he referred to the US government as, “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world.”

It is hard to swallow that Obama spent this much time throughout the years with Ayers and Dorhn and remained unaware of the pair’s radical, violent, and extremist views. Through the campaign fundraisers for Obama the terrorist pair would host at their home and through the eight years of serving as the chair of Ayers’ multi-million dollar Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Obama must have become familiar with Ayers’ strong beliefs about the US government.

When Obama’s affiliation with these domestic terrorists came to light, David Axlerod, Obama’s campaign manager, gave an answer that insulted the American public’s intelligence. Axelrod explained that Obama and Ayers had been neighbors in Chicago’s Hyde Park and their children went to the same schools together. Corsi points out that Ayer’s children are all adults now, making it highly unlikely Obama’s kids were enrolled at the same grade school when Ayer’s children attended. Axelrod made it sound like Ayers was just like an acquaintance in anyone’s neighborhood that everyone waves at but avoids real contact with. It is doubtful Ayers would entrust his new, multi-million dollar charity fund to someone he had only met in passing.

No one considers Obama to have beliefs as extreme as a murderous terrorist association. Nor is this supposed to imply that Obama supports bombings and terrorist acts against the US. However, these are people whom Obama fostered a decade-long relationship with. As president, Obama would have to use his character judgment in order to appoint people he trusts to perform functions dire to the US’s national security. How is he to be trusted to know who will serve the US citizen’s best interest if he keeps admitted domestic terrorists in his inner circle? How can we trust Obama when he will not admit to associations until his is cornered with damning information that proves his story false?

Another consideration is; if Obama keeps relationships with these people, what is his idea of extreme views? Especially when the Obama campaign keeps pointing out that the Ayers and Dorhn relations are nothing significant. What then would Obama consider significant? Does he really believe that there is nothing controversial with his past dealings with the terrorist pair? How would this affect the policies Obama would pursue in the Oval Office? The voters must demand an answer to these questions before even considering voting for Obama. He must keep getting pressed to see what, if any, similar beliefs he shares with the former Weather Underground leaders.

As a direct assertion to the Obama supporters out there, yes, it is perfectly reasonable to demand a presidential candidate to not have any friendly dealings with known terrorists. Even though Ayers only donated $200 to Obama’s presidential campaign, it is very reasonable to demand a candidate to take zero money from people such as Ayers and Dorhn. When the Ayers-Dorhn link is examined along with his anti-Israeli foreign policy advisors, it shows how much Obama doesn’t know. Whether it’s inexperience, ignorance, sympathy, or gullibility that allowed Obama to make these associations, with the current economic and national security environment, the American People cannot afford to have a president doing on-the-job training.

Is this really a new type of politician? Or is the Obama machine just using politics as usual in their campaign?
